Our story

We only make one thing. Here is why.

Steady sells a single product: 400mg of magnesium bisglycinate in two raspberry gummies, made for the people who wake at 3am. No range, no next launch, and nothing else to sell you if it does not work.

One product

A range is a hedge. This is not one.

Most supplement brands sell twelve things, because twelve things fill a catalogue and cover a bad quarter. We sell one, at one dose, for one problem. If it does not work for you there is nothing else here for us to sell you instead. That is a deliberately uncomfortable place to stand, and it is the point.

Where this came from

Steady used to be one product in somebody else’s range

These gummies did not start life as a brand. They were one product inside InnerHeal, a supplement range with other formulas in it, where a magnesium gummy was one item on a list.

The magnesium has been pulled out and given a name of its own. Same gummy, same formula, its own label — because a product with one active ingredient, at a dose worth printing on the front, should not have to share a page with things that do other jobs. A range asks you to trust a company. One product asks you to judge a thing, which is harder for us and easier for you.

We would rather tell you that here than leave you to find it somewhere else, because you would find it.

And what we are not going to do. We are not going to launch a sleep tea next quarter. We are not going to add a PM formula with melatonin in it, because melatonin is a fair part of why you stopped trusting sleep supplements. We are not going to put a fifth ingredient in at a dose too small to do anything, so that the label looks busier. If the formula ever changes, we will tell you what changed and why.

The standard

Five things we do not move on

  • One active ingredient. Magnesium bisglycinate, and then the raspberry — vegan pectin, stevia, no sugar. No proprietary blend and no supporting cast of botanicals at doses too small to matter. Blends exist so that nobody can work out how little of the expensive part is in the bag.
  • The expensive form, on purpose. Bisglycinate is magnesium bound to glycine, and it costs several times what oxide costs. We use it because oxide is the form behind a great many upset stomachs and not much else.† A supplement that does not work is not cheaper. It is just less useful, more affordably.
  • The full dose, printed plainly. 400mg of magnesium bisglycinate in a two-gummy serving, printed on the front of the pouch. Not “up to”. Not “with a magnesium complex”. The number and the serving size sit together, in the same size type, so you can check one against the other before you buy.
  • No melatonin, and nothing sedating. Melatonin is a large part of why people give up on sleep supplements: it puts you under and hands you the fog at seven the next morning. There is nothing in here that pushes you under. It is a mineral, taken nightly, doing several unglamorous jobs.†
  • A hundred nights, not fourteen. Magnesium rebuilds over weeks rather than overnight.† A fortnight’s guarantee on a product like this is a guarantee designed not to be claimed. A hundred nights is how long an honest test takes, so a hundred nights is what you get.
Who it is for

You have a drawer. There is always a drawer.

Somewhere in the house there is a drawer with the evidence in it. Melatonin that left you foggy until lunchtime. A magnesium spray that smelled odd and did nothing. Most of a tub of oxide powder. Something with eleven ingredients whose label you never quite finished reading.

Steady is for the person who owns that drawer. Who falls asleep perfectly well, then wakes at two or three with the day already loading. Whose legs cramp at the worst possible hour. Who has been told, more than once and fairly briskly, that this is simply what happens now.

You are not gullible. You are the opposite — you have been sold to often enough to have developed an ear for it. Which is why there is no statistic on this page about how badly the nation sleeps, and no photograph of a woman laughing in white bedlinen.

And who it is not for. If you want to be unconscious twenty minutes from now, buy something else — that is a real need and this is not the product for it. If you are building a stack of nine supplements to optimise, we will be a dull addition to it. And if you are hoping a gummy will do the work that a proper conversation with your doctor would do, please have the conversation. We would rather you slept than that you bought something.

† Refers to the role of magnesium in the body. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Comparisons between magnesium bisglycinate and magnesium oxide describe published research on the two compounds, not this product. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
